Berry Good

Our Free range Blackberries are producing bigger and plumper fruit than our manicured canes.

A good quantity picked

Thanks Rufus

Nightly visits by an almost resident kangaroo is a win - win situation. Rufus gets a supply of fresh green grass, we get fertiliser.

Busted

December 21st some members of the house were woken to the sounds a large stringy bark crashing down on the garage (workshop) and studio. Others just slept!

The Studio was the worst hit with the tree penetrating the roof and ceiling and breaking timber members.

Repairs to the building will take time, but wood has already been cut up and distributed to neighbours.

Asher was a bit freaked by what was going on.

Bullrushes - Worth the Weight

A much talked about garden sculpture has now come to fruition after a long wait for the right scrap materials to come to hand. Using sash weights salvaged from the original windows, Rod has done an absolutely magnificent job of creating these two clumps of rushes. Full credit to Rod for changing from thick reo rod to the rusty weights when reinforcing rod was not available for the right price. Bravo too for his welding and creative skills. Jointly we devised the overall concept but single handedly he created. They are even easily removable for mowing.

The bullrush theme was inspired by the Corten steel wall hanging featured above the table setting.
